While it is not free money, there is at least one government program that can actually help you save money: TDHCA’s Weatherization Assistance Program (“WAP”).
WAP reduces the energy consumption of low-income households by increasing the home’s energy efficiency, saving money on utility costs for other necessities.
Weatherization typically consists of caulking and weather-stripping; ceiling, wall, and floor insulation; sealing holes in ducts and the building envelope; and repairing or replacing inefficient heating and cooling systems. More »
